JAMES CROMBIE
James is a renowned, multi–award-winning photographer whose work is rooted in the Irish landscape and the stories it holds.
Named PPI AIB Irish Press Photographer of the Year in 2021, 2022, and 2025, he works as a staff photographer with Inpho Sports Photography in Dublin, balancing the fast pace of press work with a deeply personal creative practice.
For the past five winters, James has devoted himself to capturing the breathtaking starling murmurations at Lough Ennell in County Westmeath—an evolving study of movement, rhythm, and the quiet drama of the natural world. In 2024, he published his first book, Murmurations, through The Lilliput Press, bringing this long-term project to a wider audience.
Beyond this work, James continues to expand his portfolio, guided by a curiosity for both fleeting moments and the subtle narratives woven into daily life.
